Music Theater/CCM Auditions Nov. 15 and 16, 2024 - Meredith College, Raliegh, NC NCNATS Classical Auditions Feb. 14 and 15, 2025 - University of North Carolina Greensboro Host: Robert Wells 2024-2025 Guest Artists: Alan Campbell is a Tony-nominated actor known for his versatility. Over his forty plus year career, Alan has enjoyed featured roles on stage, film, television and in concert. His many credits include Broadway musicals, Off-Broadway and regional musicals and drama, feature and indy films, as well as co-starring roles in television drama, comedy, and daytime. Alan received a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance as Joe Gillis in the original Broadway production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Sunset Boulevard. Alan also appeared on Broadway in Mamma Mia! and in Contact at Lincoln Center. Feature films include Paul Schrader’s upcoming Oh Canada, Amazon’s Uncle Frank, and Universal’s A Simple Wish. On television most recently in M. Night Shaymalan’s Servant, Dopesick for Hulu, five seasons on Jake and the Fatman, Three’s a Crowd with John Ritter and appearances on Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, Homicide: Life on the Streets, Another World and All My Children. As a producer, he has over 30 shows and concerts to his credit. Alan is a co-founder of Theatre Raleigh and a founding member of H.O.L.A. (Heart of Los Angeles) Youth Theatre, providing an artistic outlet and guidance to inner-city children. Alan lives in Raleigh, North Carolina and is the proud father of Duke sophomore Riley Rose. Robert Wells Baritone Robert Wells is currently Professor of Voice and Coordinator of Vocal Pedagogy at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro College of Visual and Performing Arts. His students have been recognized for their achievements in regional, national, and international performances and competitions that include the Metropolitan Opera, Chicago Lyric Opera, Boston Lyric Opera, Merola Opera Program, Santa Fe, Glimmerglass, Chautauqua Opera, Opera North, Opera Carolina, and Arizona Opera, among others. Current and former students of Dr. Wells hold faculty positions at the university level and in public and private schools throughout the country. A frequent recitalist and master class clinician, Dr. Wells has most recently been invited to present series of master classes and lecture-recitals in China. He has also enjoyed an active career in both oratorio and opera in the United States as well as Great Britain and Europe. He has sung leading roles Le Nozze di Figaro, Così fan tutte, Madama Butterfly, and Albert Herring and has appeared as baritone soloist in numerous oratorio performances, including Benjamin Britten’s War Requiem, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, and the St. John Passion of J. S. Bach. Dr. Wells is a former member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), serving as Vice President for Auditions and as Governor of the Mid-Atlantic Region. |
