NATS Student Auditions: North Carolina Chapter Spring Conference: Classical Categories February 14-15 @ University of North Carolina, Greensboro
Hello and Happy New Year! NCNATS Classical Auditions are coming up and registration should be open soon!
Below are some reminders that the board wanted to send before registration. We've had some extra difficulty in the past few auditions with scheduling due to a couple issues in the culture we've established. (Pianists exceeding the number of students allowed, and teachers not committing to judging assignments). We have too many students at auditions now to be having these extra difficulties.
PIANISTS The maximum number of auditions one pianist may play each day is 13. Any pianist who goes over this limit will be barred from participating in the next NATS event. All students that pianist played for, when over 13, will be barred from advancing.
TEACHERS Any teacher who does not attend and adjudicate BOTH days of auditions (without an approved sub) will have their students barred from advancing. Asking another teacher, who is already present, to serve as your sub is not acceptable.
SPRING CLASSICAL AUDITIONS Classical Audition Registration will be open from January 7 until January 31. The online MT/CCM Auditions (left over from 2024) will also be open for registration during the same window. Classical Auditions will be held February 14/15 at UNCG in-person.
WESTERN NC MT/CCM VIRTUAL AUDITIONS For students who were not able to audition due to the damage incurred from Hurricane Helene, we are offering a virtual round of MT/CCM auditions with the same deadlines at the Classical auditions. Teachers who submit students for virtual auditions must also be willing to adjudicate those online auditions between February 7-13. Students who participated in the in-person auditions this past November are not permitted to participate in a second round of MT/CCM Auditions via this virtual option. The online MT/CCM Auditions will also be open for registration from January 7 until January 31. Virtual MT/CCM adjudicating will occur between February 7-13, with placements being announced at our recital on Saturday, February 15.
Chad should be sending out other registration information soon!
